Australia to ban non-prescription vaping
Australia launched an anti-vaping campaign on Tuesday as it accused tobacco companies of targeting the “next generation of nicotine addicts” by advertising to teenagers. The government has announced that it will take steps to ban disposable vapes, limit flavors and colors, and reduce permitted nicotine levels. For more than a decade, this is the country’s strongest measure against tobacco and nicotine.
People can use prescription vapes to help them quit smoking. “As with smoking, Big Tobacco has taken another addictive product, wrapped it in shiny packaging and flavored it to create a new generation of nicotine addicts.” Health Minister Mark Butler said. According to the new rules, vapes must have medicated packaging.
During vaporization, the nicotine-containing liquid in the e-cigarette is heated and then turned into a vapor that users inhale.
