KARACHI: According to ARY News on Thursday, the second part of Pakistan’s airport security evaluation has been completed by the Saudi Arabian General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

At Sialkot International Airport, an eight-person team under the direction of Lead Inspector Mohammad Al-Ajmi was present. The GACA crew received a briefing on airport security procedures while they were there.

The visiting team also examined the security precautions at the cargo agents at the airport. The GACA team visited the airports in Lahore and Multan during the preliminary phase.

An eight-person team from the Saudi Arabian General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) had earlier arrived in Pakistan to execute airport security procedures. The Saudi aviation regulator delegation was welcomed by the Lahore Airport management and Directorate of Security.

The team will evaluate the security precautions taken by ground handling companies, airlines, and the Airport Security Force (ASF).

The Saudi delegation will visit the airports at Lahore, Sialkot, Multan, Islamabad, and Peshawar during the second phase.

In the first part, the group headed by Lead Inspector Mohammad Al-Ajmi paid a visit to Karachi Airport and assessed the security measures put in place there by Pakistan International Airlines, Jerry-Danata, one of the biggest air service providers in the world, and the Airport Security Force (ASF).

The delegation also inspected the security arrangements made by Saudi Airlines, said the spokesman.

The visiting inspectors conducted a detailed security review of passengers and cargo at the airport. The security delegation also carefully observed the various arrangements made regarding catering and security of goods,

In addition, the inspectors also observed the process of passenger pre-boarding, non-passenger screening, and hold baggage screening.
