Yeri, a member of the K-pop group Red Velvet, explains why she does not wish to perform alongside her colleagues. Due to her part in the online series Bitch x Ritch, the idol has been the subject of considerable media attention.
She is playing the part of Baek Jenna, the heartless head of Cheongdam International High School, in contrast to her cheerful real-life nature. She appeared on the radio programme Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time, where she was questioned about the prospect of acting alongside her other members of the group.
“Which Red Velvet member would Yeri act with if she could?”
The idol laughed when she was asked if she would most likely not be in a show with the others, but not because of their acting prowess. “Yeah,
some members who have already had their acting debuts. But I don’t think I can do it…”
She explain that she cannot imagine acting with them in a situation where they have to be serious as they are very close friends and would all end up constantly laughing in front of the cameras instead of focusing on their job.
“It’d be too funny, so I don’t think I’d be able to focus.”
She concluded by saying they’d likely be better off focusing on their own solo activities.
“We’ll just do our best in our own lanes.”
