PERVAIZ ELAHI’S NON-BAILABLE Capture
LAHORE: An enemy of debasement court gave non-bailable capture warrant for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Pervaiz Elahi on Friday, ARY News revealed. The non-bailable capture warrant of Pervaiz Elahi has been given by an enemy of debasement court and guided concerned specialists to deliver the PTI president by June 2.
Two capture warrants have been given against Pervaiz Elahi up to this point. The main warrant was given on May 25 after the wiping out of Pervaiz Elahi’s bail and the subsequent warrant was given today. An Enemy of Defilement Foundation (Pro) group arrived at the legislator’s home in the wake of getting the capture warrant. Prior, Pervaiz’s bail was dropped in Gujranwala case.
His arrest came days after a non-arrest warrant was issued by the Lahore District Court and Magistrate.According to a court order last week, the warrant was issued at the request of an investigating officer (IO) as Elahi had “evaded arrest”.
“The defendant was denied pre-arrest bail on May 25 for failure to press charges and will not appear in court or participate in the investigation. In view of the IO’s request, warrants of involuntary arrest of accused Chaudhry Parvez Elahi are issued till June 2, 2023,” the statement said. The police have tried to arrest the former Punjab chief minister several times in recent days.
Police raided Lahore twice on Thursday after an anti-corruption court denied him bail in a case related to irregularities in development projects launched during his tenure as Punjab chief minister, but failed to arrest him as he was not available. . . In an earlier media interview, Elahi’s lawyer Asim Chaudhry said the police could only enter his client’s home in Lahore with a search warrant.
He maintained that his client’s bail had been refused based on a report which found a medical statement previously submitted by Elahi to be false. “We are now challenging the report,” he added. Since the May 9 riots and attacks on military installations, authorities have arrested several high-profile PTI leaders.
