Will Pakistan compete in the World Cup in India in 2023?
Ehsanur Rehman Mazari, Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, has announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has constituted a committee to explore Pakistan’s participation in the 2018 World Cup in India.
The event will be held from October 5 through November 19. Pakistan’s participation is still up in the air, as is whether the Pakistan cricket squad would go to India.
Before sanctioning the team’s trip to India, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other key government ministries are undertaking essential evaluations. Because of the uncertainty surrounding the team’s participation in the World Cup event, the players are hesitant and ignorant of the precise sites they may play at if they do travel to India.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally asked government approval for the team’s tour to India for the World Cup, as well as advise on different issues of playing at the allocated grounds.

If the Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team advances to the World Cup semi-finals, they will not play in Mumbai, which is one of the locations for the last four matches. Instead, the game will be played in Kolkata. Furthermore, the hosting of the Asia Cup sparked a controversy between Pakistan and India, resulting in the tournament’s matches being split between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. India’s matches will be played at neutral sites in Sri Lanka.
