Sloppy Pakistan suffer Kuwait humbling
Sloppy Pakistan are out of contention for the South Asian Football Confederation (SAFF) as the team suffered yet another 4-0 defeat at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium Pakistan were beaten by Kuwait thanks to a spread out defense and the forwards hardly put any pressure on their opponents.
Pakistan have made a few changes since their tournament opener against hosts India, which they also lost 4-0.However, they did not improve much on Saturday. Pakistan had three shots on target and had just 32 percent of possession compared to Kuwait’s seven shots.
After defeating Nepal 2-0 in the second match of Group A, Kuwait and India advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament. India’s Sunil Chhetri scored his 91st goal for the national team and expressed his satisfaction with the result despite not being able to score in the first half of the match. Kuwait eventually finished top of Group A.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Football Federation Normalization Committee (PFFNC) will also end its term on June 30. However, they have reportedly been given an extension by the FIFA Council for another eight months. A member of PFF NC Shahid Khokhar said that the world body has had confidence in them and there is hope for Pakistan football on the field and on the administrative front. ”
Pakistani football is slowly and gradually coming out of the crisis,” he told The Express Tribune. “The FIFA extension not only shows the confidence of the international football family in Pakistan’s normalization process, but also reflects the strong will of FIFA and Asian countries.
