Syed Ali Gilani, a well-known leader of the Kashmiri Hurriyat, passed away two years ago today.

In this background, a sizable march honoring Syed Ali Gilani, the symbol of the Kashmiri resistance struggle, would be held in Srinagar by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other groups.

On September 1, 2021, while being detained by Indian authorities at his Hyderpora home—where he had been subject to house confinement for more than ten years—Syed Ali Gilani accepted martyrdom.

In their memorial prayers at mosques, imams and other ulema will remember the senior leader.

There will be protests to call attention to Indian atrocities in the occupied territories on both sides of the Line of Control and throughout the world.

To honor Syed Ali Gilani’s contributions to the Kashmir liberation cause, the APHC-AJK chapter will hold a lecture in Islamabad and protests in Muzaffarabad and other cities around Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

SRINAGAR: The second martyrdom anniversary of veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat Leader Syed Ali Gilani is being observed today.

In this connection, a massive march, called by All Parties Hurriyat Conference and supported by other organizations, will be conducted towards Hyderpora in Srinagar, to pay tribute to the icon of Kashmir resistance movement, Syed Ali Gilani.

Syed Ali Gilani embraced martyrdom in the custody of Indian police on September 01, 2021 at his Hyderpora residence where he remained under house detention for over a decade.

Imams and ulema will remember the veteran leader in their special prayers at mosques.

The Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will hold protest demonstrations to draw attention of the international community towards the Indian brutalities in the occupied territory.
