ISLAMABAD: The cause for Judge Humayun Dilawar’s promotion to Officer on Special Duty (O.S.D.) was made public, according to ARY News on Friday. Humayun Dilawar was the judge who found Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan guilty in the Toshakhana case.ARY News was informed by sources that Judge Humayun Dilawar arrived in Pakistan on August 16 and that, on August 17, he wrote a letter to the chief justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
A copy of Dilawar’s letter, in which he made mention of the judgment he issued against the PTI head in the Toshakhana case, was obtained by ARY News.
He informed the IHC CJ of the dangers to his family’s safety. He said in his letter that following the verdict, a social media smear campaign was launched against him, and he got threats from people all over the world.Dilawar asked the IHC CJ to move him to the high court, the special courts, or the judicial complex, citing several grounds.
Earlier, Humayun Dilawar, a district and sessions court judge, was demoted to Officer on Special Duty (O.S.D.) after finding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan guilty in the Toshakhana case.

The local court on Saturday sentenced the head of the PTI movement to three years in prison and fined 100,000 rupees in the Toshakhana case, a move that would change the political landscape of the country ahead of the general elections.Announcing the short sentence, the court also decided to prevent him from holding any office for a period of five years.
Shortly after the verdict, Imran Khan was arrested at his residence in Zaman Park. Later, the Chief of PTI was transferred to Attock Central Prison.It is worth mentioning here that Humayun Dilawar left for London after the announcement of the verdict in the Toshakhana case.
