ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday demisted the September 5 cases, including the contempt case registered against Pakistan Three-e-Insane chief Iran Khan and others, ARY News reported.

The Election Supervisory Board confirmed in its statement that the cases scheduled for September 5 were withdrawn due to the lack of bench seats.

It is worth mentioning here that the Communist Party of Europe has expressed its disdain for PTI leader and former federal ministers Assad Omar and Fa-wad Chowder.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) prevented the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from taking a final verdict against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader in a contempt case.

LHC Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan heard the PTI leader’s plea against the ECP’s action.

The LHC blocked the ECP from taking a final decision in the contempt case but directed the commission to proceed with the proceedings.

The PTI leader’s petition was also sent to the LHC chief justice and he was asked to constitute a larger panel on the case.

Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) postponed the trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan in a contempt case filed against him.

The Election Monitoring Board reserved its decision in the contempt case against Pakistan President Tehreek-e-Insaf and others and the decision was announced on 20 June.

Furthermore, the PTI chief’s petition was referred to Chief Justice LHC and asked to form a larger bench in this case.

Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) deferred the indictment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in a contempt case filed against him.

The electoral watchdog had reserved its verdict in a contempt case against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and others, the announcement of verdict was scheduled on June 20.
