Asia Cup 2023:BCCI president, VP to arrive in Pakistan
LAHORE: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BOCCI) chairman Roger Penny and vice-president Sarajevo Shula will arrive in Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup starting on August 30, ARY News reported on Friday.
Specifically, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Roger Penny and his deputy Sarajevo Shula will arrive in Pakistan on September 4 and participate in a match to be held during the 2023 Asian Cup.
Apart from attending the match, BCCI officials will also meet Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Zak Rash.
The development came after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) invited members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and other cricket boards to participate in the mega event.
This year’s Asia Cup kicks off with hosts Pakistan taking on Nepal on August 30 in Multan.
Pakistan will host a total of four matches including the Super 4 matches.
India’s group games, including the clash with Pakistan expected on September 2, will be played in Kandy, while the rest of the Super 4 matches, including the final, will be played in Colombo.
Arch-rivals Pakistan and India will meet again in Colombo on September 10 if both manage to qualify for the Super 4 series.

Similar to the previous edition, the Asia Cup schedule has the opportunity to feast cricket lovers on a maximum of three matches between Pakistan and India in one tournament, with both arch-rivals simultaneously qualifying for the finals.
The next Asian Cup will include six teams divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group then qualify for the Super 4s. The continental event takes place from August 31 to September 17.
The 2023 Asian Cup will be played in an ODI format and will provide an opportunity for Asian teams to boost their preparations for the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup.
