On Thursday (ANI), a group of people makes their way across a flooded area as overflowing water from the Yamuna river approaches low-lying regions in Mayur Vihar Phase-1 in New Delhi. According to the Central Water Commission, the Yamuna water level hit 208.48 metres at 8 a.m. today. According to the MCD, 10 schools in Delhi’s Civil Lines zone and 7 in Shahadra would be shuttered today owing to a flood-like condition.

LIVE Delhi flood news: 200 crore in business hit
Rains and flooding in sections of the national capital have disrupted an estimated 200 crore in commerce, according to a merchants’ association on Thursday.
The Chamber of Trade and Industry has asked traders to halt the movement of goods from other cities for the next few days due to the rising water level of the Yamuna river. The markets of Old Delhi, Kashmiri Gate, Mori Gate, Monestry Market, Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid, Bhagirath Place, Lajpat Rai Market, Kinari Bazar, Fatehpuri, Khari Baoli, and Naya Bazar have been affected.

LIVE Delhi flood news: A flood-like condition in Delhi disrupts final ceremonies
The flood-like scenario in Delhi has not only disrupted daily life in the national capital, but has also swamped crematoria along the torrent Yamuna, making it impossible for individuals who have lost loved ones to perform funerals.
Nigambodh Ghat, a popular location for final rites, is inundated, as the swelling river has left the area nearly inoperable.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi issued an advise on Wednesday urging people not to visit Nigambodh Ghat to perform final rites.
Due to the rise in Yamuna water levels, the Geeta Colony crematorium was also closed.
The civic body in Delhi has instructed residents to carry the bodies to
