Pakistan should visit India for World Cup: Shahid Afridi
Pakistan’s legendary former captain Shahid Afridi on Friday suggested that the Green Shirts should play India in Ahmedabad in the upcoming ICC World Cup, saying: “Pakistan’s victory in front of a packed Indian crowd will be even more gratifying.” Speaking to a local news channel, the former flamboyant all-rounder said that Pakistan should go and play India in Ahmedabad. “Why are they refusing to play in Ahmedabad grounds? Is it a fire or a ghost?” Afridi asked.
“Go and play – go, play and win. If these are the foreseeable challenges, then the only way to overcome them is a comprehensive victory. What matters at the end of the day is the victory of the Pakistan team. Bottom line is one and only Take this quite positively. If they [India] do well there, win in front of a packed Indian crowd and show them what you’ve got,” he added. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly had reservations about playing its World Cup match against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
But ESPNcricinfo reports that the match between Pakistan and India will take place in Ahmedabad. According to the report, Pakistan will play its World Cup matches at five venues including Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
