Pakistan suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat in their last match against 19th-ranked Djibouti in the Mauritius Quad Cup on Saturday. Djibouti took the lead early in the match with Doualeh M. Elabeh netting in the 10th minute. Despite the draw, Pakistan failed to score. In the 73rd minute, Gabriel Dadzie of Djibouti, ranked 193 in the FIFA rankings, scored another goal to make it 2-0.

Pakistan’s Hayat Mohammad Umar pulled one back in the 84th minute to give the Greens hope, the score 2-1, but Samuel Akinbinu added another goal for Djibouti a minute later. Djibouti won the Four Nations Cup with their victory over Pakistan. Kenya was the highest ranked team in the tournament with 102. They were followed by Mauritius at 180th. Djibouti ranks 193rd and Pakistan ranks lowest at 195th.

It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan failed to win a single match in the tournament. IPC has today issued the notification to Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director Shoaib Khoso. The Pakistan team will leave Mauritius on June 18 for the event to be held in Bengaluru, India from June 21 to July 4.

Pakistan has already submitted a visa application to the Indian Embassy in Mauritius. In the SAFF Cup, Pakistan have been drawn with India in Group A, which also features Kuwait and Nepal.
