
ASI martyred in Swabi grenade attack
An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police was killed and two policemen were injured in a grenade attack in Swabia district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, police said on Friday.
According to police, ASI Samir Khan along with constables Gull Nasir and Jazz were performing their duties at Yard Husain bazaar before If tar to protect lives and property of people due to crowding.
As they were leaving the square on their way to the police station to fast, unidentified terrorists threw a hand grenade inside their car on the way. Police said the incident took place at 6:42 pm in which ASI Samir was killed.
“Accountant Gulf sustained serious injuries and was shifted to Madam Medical Complex for treatment, while Constable Ginza sustained minor injuries. “On the orders of the Swab district police officer, the police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
According to a statement issued by the RPD, “innocent police officers who were doing their duty to protect the public were targeted, an attempt to disturb the peace. “Security agencies will ensure that people’s lives and properties are protected by suppressing terrorism.”
